Encapsulation of Biomolecules in Sol-Gel Derived Nanoporous Silica Matrices

Supervisor(s): Dr. Caner DURUCAN

In nature, biomolecules are highly efficient in functional analyses and catalyses reactions. But, the necessity of aqueous media limits their usage for the applications desiring interactions with synthetics in environments other than their original environment. Therefore, in this project, it is aimed to encapsulate biological molecules in synthetic matrices without causing any denaturation of the molecule or loss of activity to use in biological assay platforms, biologically derived materials synthesis and biosensors.
