Grain boundary engineering aims to obtain high fraction of desired boundaries and fine grains in the microstructure of especially fcc metals of special composition via thermomechanical treatments in order to achieve excellent properties like creep, fatigue, corrosion resistance way much superior to their conventional products. The thermomechanical processes are not stated in articles but GBE processed structures are examined.
