The Processing of Porous TiNi Alloys via Powder Metallurgy and Their Characterization

Supervisor(s): Dr. Şakir BOR

Determination of the production route of porous TiNi alloys by space holder technique is under study. Microstructural and mechanical characterization of porous metals will be carried out by determination of the amount, size, type, morphology of pores as well as pore distribution and by application of compression and fatigue testing, respectively. Finally the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties will be investigated by different heat treatment practices. Heat effects and transformation temperatures of porous TiNi alloys will be determined using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
