The Processing of Porous Ti-rich TiNi Alloys via Powder Metallurgy and Their Characterization
Supervisor: Dr. Şakir BOR
Determination of the production route of porous Ti-rich TiNi alloys by space holder technique using Magnesium is under study. Microstructural and mechanical characterization of porous metals will be carried out by determination of the amount, size, type, morphology of pores as well as pore distrubition and by application of compression and fatigue testing, respectively. Finally the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties will be investigated by different heat treatment practices. Heat effects and transformation temperatures of porous TiNi alloys will be determined using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
